Hughes's Pie and Mash

Loved it! everything handmade and prepared by the shopkeeper, she also helped me out with the condiments.. spicy vinegar is really good with the gravy

I've been to a number of Manze's, Goddards etc., and have been eating pie n mash for over 50 years. This ranks right up there with the best!Was gutted when Manze's Chapel market closed, but have found my oasis, and only 3 miles away. Been going there since they opened, and will continue to do so!

I was brought up in the East End of London and am used to a certain traditional quality of pie ‘n mash with liquor. Hughe’s is far west of the centre of London and everything was perfect even down to only providing a fork and spoon. No knife, as it should be. Having lunch at Hughe’s brought back many happy memories. Needless to say, the staff were superbI now live in Marlow and having just discovered this oasis will frequent it much more regularly.

Took my grandad in for a bit of traditional lunch! The feel with the old school decor made him say he was back in the 1950s where he would have 2 and 2 for nine pence after being at the pictures for sixpence on a Saturday.Lovely food at a great price. A 1 and 1 & a 2 and 2 with a tea and a can for 18 quid - can't go wrong. Pies cooked perfectly, top drawer mash and liquor was Lovely.Definitely going back for more

Amazing meal here yesterday

Me and my mum visited Ruislip for the day and were greeted by a very friendly server! :)We had 2 pies and single mash with liquor. The pies were filled with tasty gravy inside. The pies were lovely and tender too! Single mash was just the right amount! :)I would definitely recommend visiting this pie and mash shop! :)The whole shop and toilet was very clean and very modern! I loved the pictures that hung on the walls of famous actors! I even took a few pictures which the manager (I assume) didn't seem to mind! :)Thank you very much for your wonderful service! Will definitely visit again in the future if we ever come to Ruislip again!! :) 3

Love Hughes pie and mash shop it's one of the best I've ever been in. They are so friendly in there and make you feel at home, always service with a smile. The food is so yummy you can't make your mind up whether to have 1 or two pies with 1 or 2 mash lumps or have gravy or liquor, you can have peas too. They make a really good cup of tea as well. This is my go to comfort food and they do takeaway. I highly recommend going to this place rather then just using their takeaway service because the atmosphere adds to the experience.

Took b.f here for his birthday and been for a hot drink n there scrummy sponge cake but wow first time pie mash liquor.Grew up hearing about it .so birthday treat and we weren't disappointed then had sponge cake after .Left full .Happy n will return
